Mark Follos, site manager for Lioncourt Homes at the Heritage Walk development in Ironbridge, has been awarded the prestigious regional title in the Medium Builder category of the Pride in the Job Awards. This recognition highlights his exceptional standards in homebuilding and follows his previous successes in both the Quality Award and Seal of Excellence phases of the competition this year.
Follos expressed gratitude for the support of his team, stating, “While my name is on the certificate, this achievement wouldn’t have been possible without my committed, expert team and our trades who have worked to the highest standards we’ve set.” He highlighted the collaborative spirit within the team, many of whom he has worked with for several years, and underscored the importance of camaraderie in achieving high-quality results.
The Pride in the Job Awards are considered one of the UK’s most esteemed competitions in the homebuilding sector. Follos’s accomplishment places him in contention for the national Supreme Award, with results to be announced in January 2026. This is not his first time in the spotlight; he was also the runner-up in the NHBC Pride in the Job Supreme category in 2022, illustrating his consistent excellence in site management.
Challenges and Achievements at Heritage Walk
The Heritage Walk development focuses on creating modern, energy-efficient homes tailored to a diverse range of homeseekers. Follos has navigated various challenges since the project’s inception, with the first homes now occupied. He emphasized the importance of maintaining a clean and safe site to motivate tradespeople and uphold quality standards.
“It goes through cycles with challenges and obstacles, but we’re always looking to find solutions and stay positive,” he stated. Follos’s leadership style prioritizes an encouraging environment, fostering a culture of respect and collaboration on site. “I’ll never be one to shout and bark orders. That’s just not how we see people delivering best quality for us,” he added.
Danny Tunstall, Construction Director at Lioncourt Homes, praised Follos and the team for their commitment to quality. He remarked, “For Mark and the site team to be recognised for their dedication to build quality and raising standards in house building is a huge honour.” Tunstall extended his appreciation to contractors, suppliers, and everyone involved in the project, acknowledging their vital role in achieving high standards.
As the winners of the regional awards prepare for the national competition, Lioncourt Homes remains focused on its mission to elevate the standards of homebuilding across the Midlands and South West. The recognition of Follos not only highlights individual achievement but also reflects the collective effort of a dedicated team committed to excellence in the industry.
