URGENT UPDATE: The public hearing on the proposed solar panel project in Great Barrington has been postponed once more, now rescheduled for February 12, 2024, at 6 p.m. This marks the second delay for the discussion regarding the commercial-scale ground-mount solar energy facility proposed by Lodestar Energy at 53 Van Deusenville Road.
Originally set for December 11, 2023, the hearing was first pushed to January 8, 2024. The request for another postponement comes amid ongoing concerns raised by both the Selectboard and the Board of Health regarding the project’s potential impact.
The proposed facility is situated on property owned by Jeanne Bachetti of County Road in Great Barrington. Community members are anxiously awaiting the upcoming meeting, as this project has sparked significant debate among local residents and officials alike.
The Planning Board will address objections and concerns during the new hearing date. As discussions intensify, residents are urged to stay informed and participate in the upcoming meeting to voice their opinions.
