Donald Trump has raised new health concerns after being photographed with noticeably swollen ankles during an appearance on Josh Pate’s College Football Show. The image, shared on social media, shows Trump seated at a table, with his trousers shifted upwards, revealing his swollen ankles. This incident has prompted renewed discussions among social media users about the President’s health, with many expressing their worries about the apparent condition.
The photograph was taken over the weekend and quickly garnered attention, particularly as Trump has recently threatened further illegal tariffs following a Supreme Court ruling against him. As geopolitical tensions rise, notably with Iran, Trump’s physical state is once again in the spotlight. Observers noted that his right ankle appeared to bulge over the edge of his shoe, leading to various comments on social media. One user remarked: “Trump’s bulging cankles exposed by podcaster. SWOLLEN IN PLAIN SIGHT.” Others echoed similar sentiments, questioning his ability to maintain his usual pace as President.
According to statements from the White House and medical evaluations, Trump’s swollen ankles are attributed to chronic venous insufficiency (CVI), a common age-related circulatory issue. This condition occurs when leg veins struggle to return blood effectively to the heart, resulting in fluid buildup in the lower legs. Following the appearance of swelling, Trump was evaluated by the White House Medical Unit “out of an abundance of caution,” as noted by his physician, Dr. Sean Barbabella.
Dr. Barbabella confirmed that Trump underwent a “comprehensive examination” that diagnosed CVI as a “benign and common condition.” He reassured the public that there was no indication of serious health issues such as deep vein thrombosis or arterial disease. “Trump remains in excellent health,” he emphasized, with further tests showing “normal cardiac structure and function.” The doctor concluded by stating, “No signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness were identified.”
Last year, Trump also attracted media attention due to visible bruises on his hands, which he attempted to conceal with makeup. In response to these health-related concerns, he underwent medical tests, leading his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, to assert that Trump was in “perfectly healthy” condition following all tests.
As discussions regarding Trump’s health continue, the public remains attentive to any developments. With ongoing political and international challenges, the President’s well-being will likely remain a topic of interest in the coming weeks.
