Tragic Loss: Newcastle Fan Dies on Holiday, Fiancée 11 Weeks Pregnant

UPDATE: A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded as 34-year-old Dean Potter died unexpectedly while on an anniversary holiday with his pregnant fiancée, Zoe Adams, who is 11 weeks pregnant. The couple was celebrating their 11-year anniversary at Haven Caister-on-Sea holiday park in Norfolk when the incident occurred on September 26, 2025.

The couple had fought for eight years to conceive before finally receiving the joyous news of Zoe’s pregnancy. Just hours before his untimely death, Dean appeared to be in perfect health, enjoying their romantic getaway filled with dinners and beach walks. Zoe recalls, “It was one of the most romantic trips, and we were both having such a great time.”

Tragically, their holiday took a devastating turn when Zoe woke up around 2 AM to a loud noise. “I found Dean collapsed on the floor,” she said, noting that he had previously fallen out of bed without issue. Zoe immediately performed CPR and called for an ambulance, but paramedics were unable to revive him despite two hours of intensive assistance.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Dean suffered from left ventricular failure due to a previously undetected heart disease. “I can’t believe he’s gone,” Zoe expressed. “Every day, I miss his smile, laugh, and kindness. It breaks my heart that he will never meet our baby.”

In a show of support, Dean’s sister, Louise Potter, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral costs and support Zoe during this difficult time. The fundraiser has already raised over £4,000 as friends and family rally to support the grieving couple.

Louise, a full-time university student, shared her anguish, stating, “I’m so angry at the world for taking our Deano so soon. We are all praying that the baby will be safe and well.” Dean’s legacy lives on through the upcoming arrival of his child, with Louise expressing hope that Dean is watching over them.

As the community mourns this unexpected loss, Zoe is left to navigate the heartbreaking reality of raising their child without Dean. The funeral service is scheduled for November 17, 2025, and donations can be made to Dean’s GoFundMe here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/deano-potter.

This tragic incident serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment.
