URGENT UPDATE: NE Youth, a leading youth charity in the North East, is celebrating its 90th anniversary by recognizing inspiring young individuals at the 2025 Impact Awards held at The Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park on October 13, 2025. Nearly 400 attendees, including young people, supporters, and sponsors, gathered to honor the exceptional contributions of local youth and volunteers.
Over the past nine decades, NE Youth has positively impacted over one million young lives. The awards showcased the incredible dedication of nominees, making it a challenging task for judges to select the winners. Among the standout awardees was Jannah Rahman Rehman, who received the Volunteer of the Year award for her significant work with Projects4Change, which empowers youth-led initiatives and provides guidance for young people aged 11 to 19.
“I’m still shaking,” Jannah expressed after her win. “The award made me realize how much work I’ve done and how important youth work is.” Her heartfelt reaction underscores the profound impact of youth engagement in the community.
Another notable recognition went to Thomas Stoneman from Stepney Bank Stables, who was awarded Youth Worker of the Year. His commitment to nurturing young talent exemplifies the spirit of the evening, as guests were treated to exhilarating performances by local talents, including the MK Diamonds Cheerleaders and the Room 14 DofE Band.
Jon Niblo, CEO of NE Youth, emphasized the importance of supporting youth during challenging times. “The Impact Awards showcase the best of what happens when young people are given opportunities to thrive. Times are tough for a lot of people right now, but we need to continue to invest in our young people,” he stated. “The energy, commitment, and creativity we’ve seen tonight never ceases to amaze me.
