URGENT UPDATE: New research from the international portal Camping.info reveals that Montenegro is once again among the most affordable camping destinations in Europe. The Camping Association of Montenegro (KACG) announced that the average cost for a two-person stay, including a plot, vehicle, electricity, and fees, is just €15.58 per night.
This news comes as camping demand in Europe continues to surge, particularly along the Adriatic coast. The findings position Montenegro as a competitive player in the regional market amidst rising interest in outdoor tourism. As travelers increasingly seek budget-friendly options, the country’s affordability stands out, especially when compared to popular destinations like Croatia and Slovenia, known for their high camping costs.
KACG highlights that while neighboring countries like Albania and North Macedonia may offer lower prices, their limited number of campsites and inconsistent infrastructure make Montenegro a more appealing choice for many. The report emphasizes that campers often spend significantly beyond their accommodation on local products, dining, and activities, greatly benefiting local economies.
Despite having less developed markets, both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia present higher average prices than Montenegro, underscoring the latter’s competitive edge in the camping sector. KACG stresses that this analysis reinforces the importance of enhancing Montenegro’s visibility in the European camping market.
Officials confirm that Montenegro will showcase its camping offerings at the CMT Fair in Stuttgart, the largest European event dedicated to camping, caravanning, and travel. This opportunity is crucial for attracting visitors from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands, who are drawn to Montenegro’s combination of accessible pricing and stunning natural landscapes.
As camping tourism sees consistent growth across Europe, Montenegro is poised to strengthen its position thanks to its appealing prices, unique environments, and increasingly modern campground offerings. KACG asserts that the ongoing efforts to promote camping will have a significant impact on extending the tourist season beyond peak months.
