UPDATE: A man has been arrested following a vicious assault on a traffic attendant in Newcastle, Co Down, that left the victim with severe facial injuries. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, when the traffic attendant, a man in his 30s, was attacked after a confrontation with another man who exited an off-licence.
According to the PSNI (Police Service of Northern Ireland), the suspect became verbally aggressive and swung a bag of bottles at the attendant’s face, causing significant damage. The victim sustained multiple facial fractures and a deep laceration, prompting urgent medical attention.
