USMNT Unveils Striking Kits for 2026 FIFA World Cup

The United States Soccer Federation has officially unveiled the kits that the United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) will wear during the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Drawing inspiration directly from the American flag, these jerseys reflect a strong sense of national pride. U.S. Soccer collaborated with Nike to create two distinct designs: one featuring stars and the other stripes. Both kits will be showcased at the World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The home jersey boasts curvy red and white stripes reminiscent of the team’s 2012 uniform, while the away version presents a more understated design, with stars subtly embellished on a rich navy blue background. Notably, these kits will not only be worn by the USMNT but by all 27 teams under the U.S. Soccer banner, including the United States Women’s National Team (USWNT).

Dave Wright, Chief Commercial Officer of U.S. Soccer, commented, “A national team jersey represents the pride of wearing the crest, not just for players on the field, but also for the fans who support them every step of the way.” He expressed excitement about seeing players and supporters alike united in these kits as the tournament approaches.

Design Process Reflects Player Input

U.S. Soccer emphasized the importance of player involvement in the kit design process. Through design workshops and listening sessions, athletes contributed feedback on elements such as fabric weight, seam placement, and overall fit. The federation stated that every detail was carefully considered to ensure the kits meet the players’ needs.

Each jersey features an “Inner Pride” mark inside the collar, symbolizing the internal motivation that drives each player. Additionally, a newly created “Stars and Stripes” font will be used for player names and numbers on all future kits.

Ronnie J. Stewart, Global Product Director for Nike, remarked, “I think between both kits there is something for everybody. If you want to be loud and proud and represent the crest, no one’s going to doubt who you’re there for in the light kit. If you’re looking for that lifestyle look that works off the field, the dark is for you.”

Upcoming Matches and World Cup Timeline

Fans will have their first opportunity to see the new jerseys in action during a friendly match against Belgium at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on March 28, 2026. The USMNT is also scheduled to face Portugal on April 1, 2026, again in Atlanta.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will commence on June 11, 2026, at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City, where Mexico will host South Africa. The USMNT will play its first match the following day, June 12, 2026, against Paraguay at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

With these new kits, U.S. Soccer aims to foster a sense of unity and pride among all national teams as they prepare for an exciting chapter in the history of American soccer.
