Spalding High School Collects Over 1,500 Items for Food Bank

Spalding High School has demonstrated community spirit by organizing its annual **Bring a Tin Day** to support the **Agape Food Bank**. This year’s initiative, held at the end of the school term, resulted in an impressive **1,503 items** being donated by students, staff, and the wider school community.

The event, which has been a fixture at Spalding High School since its inception in **2014**, not only fosters a sense of charity but also encourages students to engage in meaningful community service. Participants sorted the donations into categories, counted each item, and prepared them for delivery. The school’s site team then transported the collected goods to Agape Food Bank, ensuring the contributions reached those in need promptly.

Over the years, Spalding High School has made a significant impact through its charitable efforts, with a total of **18,527 items** donated to the food bank since the project began. In addition to food items, the school has also raised funds to support Agape. This December, fundraising activities generated a monetary donation of **£260.58**, which has been sent to the food bank to further assist local families during the festive season.

The initiative exemplifies the commitment of Spalding High School to support the community and address food insecurity. By engaging students in such projects, the school not only provides essential support to organizations like Agape Food Bank but also instills values of empathy and social responsibility in its students.

As the holiday season approaches, initiatives like Bring a Tin Day highlight the importance of community support and the difference that collective efforts can make in the lives of those facing challenges.
