Chelsea Secures AI Partnership with IFS as New Shirt Sponsor

Chelsea FC has announced a new partnership with the artificial intelligence firm IFS, which will serve as the club’s front-of-shirt sponsor until the end of the current season. This collaboration marks a significant return to shirt sponsorship for the west London club, which has been without a long-term sponsor since its previous agreement with mobile phone company Three concluded in 2023.

The IFS logo will appear prominently on the kits of both the men’s and women’s teams, beginning with their upcoming matches. Liam Rosenior’s team will don the new jerseys during their Premier League fixture on Saturday, while Sonia Bompastor’s squad will showcase them in the Women’s FA Cup clash on Sunday. Chelsea characterized this deal as a “multi-year global partnership,” although details regarding the continuation of IFS as the main kit sponsor beyond this season remain undisclosed. The financial terms of the agreement have not been revealed.

Rebuilding Sponsorship Landscape

The partnership with IFS comes approximately two and a half years after the expiration of the club’s contract with Three. Following this period, Chelsea entered a short-term agreement with sports data technology company Infinite Athlete in September 2023. Last season, the club faced challenges in securing a primary shirt sponsor, ultimately featuring the Emirati property development company DAMAC on their kits for a brief period towards the end of the campaign.

In a statement, Chelsea president Jason Gannon expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are incredibly proud to partner with IFS and leverage their leading-edge AI software to help propel the club to even greater success.” He emphasized the partnership as a commitment to leading in the field of technology, aiming to harness the opportunities presented by advanced AI to enhance operations both on and off the pitch.

The partnership aligns with IFS’s identity as a leader in industrial AI software, promising to deliver industry-specific, contextual intelligence that is trusted by top organizations globally. With this new sponsorship agreement, Chelsea aims to strengthen its brand while embracing the advancements in technology that can enhance the club’s performance and fan engagement.

As Chelsea prepares to unveil their new kits, the club and its supporters look forward to the potential benefits this partnership could bring, both in terms of performance on the field and broader organizational growth.
