Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Face Dilemma in Royal Return

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may find a return to royal life increasingly challenging as they navigate their burgeoning careers in Hollywood. According to PR expert Ruth Sparkles, the couple’s involvement in the entertainment industry could render their reintegration into royal duties “almost impossible.” This assessment follows their recent attendance at Kris Jenner‘s 70th birthday party, an event that has sparked significant speculation about their future direction.

After the party, all evidence of the Sussexes’ participation was notably erased, indicating a potential desire to distance themselves from the Hollywood scene. Sparkles, who is also the director of EMPRA, emphasized that if the Duke and Duchess aim to mend relationships with the Royal Family, they should avoid fully embracing a Hollywood lifestyle. She stated, “If they’re genuinely trying to rebuild bridges with the Royal Family, they can’t keep leaning too far into the Hollywood lifestyle; it just doesn’t fit with royal duty and restraint.”

Reflecting on their strategy, Sparkles advised the couple to focus on their royal connections for the next 12 to 18 months. She suggested maintaining a consistent and low-profile approach to rebuild credibility. “At that point, they can decide if there’s room to blend in Hollywood again,” she added, highlighting the need for a balance between public image and meaningful engagement.

The couple’s Hollywood ambitions were further emphasized by a report from Page Six, which stated that a representative for the Sussexes requested both Kim Kardashian and Jenner to remove all photos of Harry and Meghan from the birthday celebration. Sources indicated that they are keen to avoid further straining ties with the Royal Family while attempting to bridge the growing gap.

Tension appears to be mounting not only between the Sussexes and the Royal Family but also within the couple themselves. Reports suggest that Harry longs for a return to the UK, while Meghan is preparing for her comeback in a new film titled Close Personal Friends. This project will feature Lily Collins and Brie Larson, with Meghan set to play herself after an eight-year hiatus from acting.

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam noted that Meghan’s decision to portray herself in a Hollywood film underscores her shift towards the United States. He remarked, “Harry still feels very deeply about his homeland and would like to spend more time in the UK. The same cannot be said for Meghan, so there’s a clear divergence in opinions there.” The couple is also involved in various Netflix projects, suggesting that Meghan’s Hollywood journey may just be beginning.

While Harry expressed to the BBC his feelings of missing the UK, he noted uncertainties about returning, especially after losing a legal case with the Home Office regarding security provisions. Despite these challenges, there may be signs of reconciliation between the Sussexes and the Royal Family. Harry recently reunited with his father, King Charles III, during a private meeting at Clarence House in September 2023, indicating potential progress in mending familial relationships.

As Harry and Meghan continue to navigate their identities in both royal and Hollywood spheres, their decisions in the coming months will significantly shape their futures and public perceptions.
