The fifth edition of the festival dedicated to promoting young musical talent concluded successfully in Kolašin, Montenegro. This year’s event, which celebrated a significant milestone of five years, underscores the festival’s importance on the country’s cultural landscape.
Organized by a pre-governmental organization focused on fostering young talent, the festival collaborated with the Center for Culture Kolašin, the Municipality of Kolašin, and the Tourist Organization of Kolašin. Support came from the Ministry of Culture and Media of Montenegro, according to festival organizer Dražen Joković.
A key highlight of the festival was the Winter School for Talents, aimed at the most promising young guitarists from Montenegro. The participants had the unique opportunity to work with renowned educators from the region, including Professor Aleksandar Hadži-Đorđević and Professor Srđan Tošić, both regular professors at the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade. They conducted a three-day educational program, culminating in a final concert showcasing the students’ progress.
In addition to its educational component, the festival featured a vibrant concert program. The event kicked off with a performance from the notable Montenegrin guitar duo Bulatović-Nikčević, joined by percussionist Miloš Knežević. The festival’s finale was marked by a powerful performance from Damir Urban, leaving attendees with a memorable artistic message and energy.
The festival’s objectives include the promotion of young artists, bridging education with concert practice, and enriching the cultural offerings of Kolašin. This year’s diverse and high-quality musical content aimed to cater to audiences with various interests and tastes, as emphasized by Joković.
As the festival wraps up, it continues to pave the way for future generations of musicians, solidifying its place in Montenegrin culture. The commitment to nurturing young talent and providing a platform for artistic expression remains a focal point for the organizers moving forward.
