The data transmission from the air quality monitoring station at Gagović’s Estate in Pljevlja has been interrupted. The disruption occurred on December 10, 2023, at 13:00 local time, according to the Agency for Environmental Protection.
Following the interruption, experts from the Center for Ecotoxicological Testing (CETI) promptly investigated the issue. They found that all measuring equipment and instruments were functioning properly and that the power supply remained stable. The problem was identified as a disruption in the internet connection, specifically due to insufficient signal flow that is preventing the transmission of collected data to the central server.
Despite attempts to reset the data transmission system, the connection has not yet been restored. The agency clarified that all measurement data continues to be collected and securely stored in the station’s internal memory.
As soon as a stable internet connection is established, all stored data will be uploaded to the server and made available to the public. The agency emphasized that they are working urgently with the internet service provider to resolve the connectivity issue as quickly as possible.
This interruption highlights the challenges faced in maintaining consistent environmental monitoring, which is crucial for public health and safety. The agency’s commitment to rectify the situation reflects the importance of transparency in air quality reporting.
