Authorities Urge Caution as Heavy Rain and Winds Loom

The Directorate for Protection and Rescue in Montenegro has issued a warning urging citizens and institutions to adapt their activities in response to expected severe weather. According to the Montenegro Hydrometeorological and Seismological Institute (ZHMS), heavy rainfall and strong winds are forecasted for the next seven to eight days, raising the potential for weather-related emergencies in various locations.

In light of these conditions, the Directorate advises the public to take specific precautions. It is recommended to avoid outdoor activities during the heaviest rainfall and wind gusts, which may reach storm intensity. Citizens are also encouraged to stay informed through official announcements and recommendations from relevant authorities via media and official communication channels.

The Directorate has highlighted several key areas of concern. Residents should pay close attention to the status of watercourses, atmospheric drainage, and the stability of structures, especially in areas prone to flooding and landslides. Furthermore, maintaining clear access for firefighters and rescue services in case of interventions is essential.

The warning has been disseminated to all entities involved in the protection and rescue system, along with recommendations for heightened operational readiness and increased monitoring of the situation on the ground. This proactive approach aims to mitigate the impact of the anticipated weather conditions and ensure public safety.

Monitoring weather updates and adhering to safety guidelines are crucial as Montenegro prepares for the challenging weather ahead.
