Thrill-Seekers to Zipline as Santa for Children’s Charity

URGENT UPDATE: Thrill-seekers are gearing up to zipline dressed as Father Christmas on December 15 at the country’s longest zipline, located at Hangloose Adventure in Bluewater Shopping Centre, Greenhithe. This festive event, called the Santa Flights, aims to raise vital funds for BLAZE Charity, which supports children battling cancer.

This unique charity initiative was founded in memory of Benjamin Shaw, who tragically passed away from a rare brain tumor in 2021 at the age of 11. His siblings, Ellen and Owen Shaw, are dedicated to raising awareness and funds for childhood brain tumor research.

Brian Phelps, managing director of Hangloose, expressed the team’s commitment: “Our Santa Flight at Bluewater has a really special meaning for the team. Supporting BLAZE and helping raise money for such an important cause means a lot to all of us.”

Tickets for the event are priced at £40, with an impressive 50% of all sales going directly to BLAZE. Participants will soar along a 720-meter zipline, reaching speeds of up to 50 mph. Among those taking the plunge are kmfm presenters Ben Pearce and Jack Burke, who will also don Santa suits for this exhilarating experience.

Attendees can choose to fly solo or side-by-side, with special accommodations for disabled guests. Carers accompanying those needing assistance will be allowed to participate for free, ensuring that everyone can join in this heartwarming event.

The charity funds crucial research into early symptoms of childhood brain tumors, provides support and gifts to affected families, and raises awareness about this important issue. The Santa Flights event not only promises thrilling fun but also the chance to create lasting memories while making a significant impact.

Tickets are available now through the Hangloose Bluewater website. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to spread holiday cheer and support a worthy cause.

As the event approaches, organizers encourage everyone to join in, share the news, and be a part of this extraordinary initiative to help children in need.
