Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Carrie Coon mourn together in the trailer for the film “His Three Daughters.”
People frequently state that there is no correct or incorrect method to mourn the passing of a family member.
Azazel Jacobs, the director of French Exit, showcases three different responses to loss in His Three Daughters, a film featuring Elizabeth Olsen, Natasha Lyonne, and Carrie Coon as estranged siblings caring for their dying father Jay O. Sanders; the movie received great reviews at TIFF last year.
If the initial preview for the Netflix movie generating Oscars buzz is any indication, Jacobs will emotionally devastate us and then some. Check it out in the video provided below:
Having experienced success in different blockbuster movies, Olsen, Coon, and Lyonne are now set to delve into more substantial character studies in the upcoming film His Three Daughters.
This initial glimpse into the movie, taking place in New York over a few days, effectively establishes the tension and extensive shared history between the three half-sisters.
We see glimpses of Rachel’s substance problems and growing bitterness towards her wealthier sisters, who also show hostility towards her for shirking her duties when they arrive.
Despite the tension and sadness present, there is a common feeling of sorrow between the fighting siblings, which could lead to a chance for reconciliation and healing.
Included in this particular group are Rudy Galvan, Jose Febus, Jasmine Bracey, and Joan Adepo.
We’ll see if Olsen, Lyonne, and Coon’s sisters can reconcile for their father’s sake in His Three Daughters, coming to select theaters on 6 September and Netflix on 20 September, or if their past issues are too much to overcome.
