Asake Dominates Nigeria’s Streaming Scene with Three Top Albums

Asake, the Afrobeats sensation, has established himself as the leading artist in Nigeria’s digital music landscape. His dominance is highlighted by a recent ranking from TurnTable Charts, which identifies the most streamed albums in the country since 2020. Asake’s first two studio albums occupy the top two slots, underscoring his significant impact on the music scene.

Leading the list is Asake’s 2023 album Work of Art, which boasts an impressive 661.2 million streams. The project has received both commercial success and critical acclaim, continuing to perform strongly on streaming platforms long after its release. Following closely is his debut album, Mr Money With The Vibes, with 634.4 million streams. Asake’s third studio album, Lungu Boy, ranks sixth with 387.4 million streams, further illustrating his remarkable influence on digital music consumption in Nigeria.

This exceptional performance reflects not only Asake’s rapid ascent to stardom but also his innovative approach to Afrobeats. His unique blend of energetic rap flows and traditional fuji melodies has reshaped the genre. According to data from Spotify Nigeria, Asake has also been named the most streamed artist of all time in the country since the platform’s launch in 2021.

Asake first captured mainstream attention with his breakthrough EP Ololade Asake in January 2022. His signature sound, combined with the distinctive production style of collaborator Magicsticks and the prominent use of log drums, quickly generated hit records, positioning him at the forefront of the Nigerian music industry.

While Asake dominates the top of the list, other Nigerian artists also showcased their streaming prowess. Burna Boy made a notable impact with multiple entries, including his 2022 album Love, Damini, which ranks fourth with 436.8 million streams. His 2023 project I Told Them sits ninth with 308 million streams. Additionally, his Grammy-winning album Twice As Tall holds the 19th position with 235.3 million streams.

Davido is also represented on the list, with his 2023 album Timeless ranking fifth with 428.5 million streams. His subsequent release, 5ive, reached number 15, despite its recent launch in 2025. Wizkid, another titan in the industry, secured two spots: his sixth album Morayo ranks tenth with 301.4 million streams, while his acclaimed 2020 project Made in Lagos appears at number 13 with 264.1 million streams.

Other prominent artists on the list include Seyi Vibez, whose debut album Billion Dollar Baby sits eighth with 331.1 million streams, and his 2023 album Thy Kingdom Come, which ranks 17th with 245 million streams. Additional noteworthy projects include Boy Alone by Omah Lay, EZIOKWU by ODUMODUBLVCK, Jiggy Forever by Young Jonn, Maverick by Kizz Daniel, Sincerely, Benson by BNXN, Playboy by Fireboy DML, Blessed by MohBad, and HEIS by Rema.

Asake’s impressive streaming figures signal his position as a defining artist in Nigeria’s modern Afrobeats era. With three albums firmly in the top tier of the ranking, analysts suggest that his influence will continue to shape the landscape of Nigerian music for years to come.
