Over 700 Scouts Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Frost Camp Now

URGENT UPDATE: Over 700 Scouts and Guides are currently gathering at Bentley Copse Activity Centre to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Frost Camp, a milestone event that promises thrilling activities and unforgettable experiences. The camp, which started on January 30, 2023, has quickly become one of the region’s most anticipated events, drawing participants from local groups, including the 1st Brookwood, Pyford, 1st Goldsworth Park, 1st Knaphill, and 8th Woking Scouts.

This year’s Frost Camp is not just a celebration; it’s a showcase of skills, teamwork, and adventure. Launched in 2006 with only 200 participants, the camp has expanded dramatically over the years and has continued annually, with the exception of 2021 due to government restrictions. The diverse range of activities, including climbing walls, zipline rides, and a new bag drop attraction—where participants leap from a tower onto a giant inflatable—have quickly become favorites among attendees.

Participants are currently engaging in exhilarating challenges such as climbing, Jacob’s Ladder, crate stacking, and even air rifle shooting. For those seeking a less adrenaline-pumping experience, activities like archery and tomahawk throwing are also offered. As evening falls, the excitement continues with a film night, lively campfire, and a thrilling zipline ride in the dark.

Young Scouts are sharing their excitement about the camp. Eleven-year-old James from Pyford expressed, “I liked all the activities because they were fun to do and made us work together as a team.” Another participant, Rory, also 11 and from Woking, shared his nerve-wracking experience on the bag drop, saying, “I felt my life was flashing before me before landing safely.”

Frost Camp plays a crucial role in helping young people develop #SkillsForLife, providing opportunities for personal growth and teamwork that many local groups cannot offer on their own. As the weekend progresses, this landmark event is set to leave lasting memories for all involved.

Stay tuned for further updates on the ongoing activities and reactions from participants as Frost Camp continues to unfold!
