President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has officially approved the appointments of three ambassadors to represent the country in key global locations. This decision follows the confirmation of 68 ambassadorial nominees by the Senate in December 2025.
In an announcement made on Thursday evening, the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, revealed that the President has appointed Ambassador Ayodele Oke as the ambassador-designate to France. Additionally, Colonel Lateef Are (rtd) will serve as the ambassador-designate to the United States of America. The third appointment is Ambassador Amin Dalhatu, who previously held the position of ambassador to South Korea, now designated as the high commissioner to the United Kingdom.

In his memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu has directed that notifications be sent to the respective governments of France, the United States, and the United Kingdom regarding the new appointments. This action is in accordance with established diplomatic protocols, ensuring that the ambassadors-designate can commence their roles effectively.
