Liverpool Police Arrest Four in Major Drug Busts This Week

UPDATE: Four arrests have been made in connection with significant drug busts in Liverpool, as police continue to clamp down on drug-related crime. The Merseyside Police’s EVOLVE Everton-Vauxhall unit conducted a series of raids after receiving tips about drug activity in the area.

Earlier this week, officers observed a man acting suspiciously in Kirkdale on January 19, 2024. Following a tip-off from the community, police apprehended the individual, leading to a search of a nearby property. Inside, they discovered two additional suspects, one of whom was found with wraps of suspected Class A drugs hidden in his underwear.

During the raid, police seized substantial quantities of suspected Class B (ketamine) and Class C (pregabalin) drugs, along with cash. The suspects—a 44-year-old and a 65-year-old from Kirkdale, and a 23-year-old man from Sefton—were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and C drugs, possession of Class B drugs, and possession of criminal property. All three have since been released under investigation.

In a follow-up operation on January 20, 2024, officers spotted another man engaging in what they believed to be a drug deal near Breck Road in Everton. A forced entry into the property led to the recovery of a significant stash of suspected Class A drugs, including cocaine and heroin, as well as cannabis, nitrous oxide, cash, and offensive weapons. A 22-year-old man from Everton was arrested on similar charges, including possession with intent to supply.

Chief Inspector Andrew Fielding emphasized the dangers posed by drug-related activities, stating,

“Drugs activity and weapons bring real harm and risk into our communities. They fuel violence, exploitation, and fear, and that will not be tolerated.”

Fielding reassured residents that police are actively responding to community intelligence, which directly leads to arrests and safer streets. “If you tell us what is happening, we will take action,” he added.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about drug-related activities to reach out via social media @MerPolCC or contact the Merseyside Police website. Anonymous tips can also be given to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

As these operations unfold, the community is reminded of the vital role they play in supporting law enforcement efforts. The ongoing crackdown highlights the urgent need for action against drug-related crime in Liverpool. Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story.
