UPDATE: Buducnost’s football team is gearing up for a critical transformation as Miodrag Bozovic takes over as head coach, facing the club’s most challenging period in nearly two decades. Just announced, the team is currently 7th in the league, 11 points away from the top, and struggling to avoid relegation.
In a press conference at the Stari Aerodrom training camp, Bozovic expressed his determination to reignite the passion for the game among players. “We must restore the fire,” he stated, highlighting that players need to first love themselves and then their team.
The club, historically the most decorated in Montenegro, is battling a wave of turbulence after a series of losses. Bozovic, who returned to Buducnost after 19 years, emphasized the need for a fresh start, saying, “Everyone begins from zero.” He plans to evaluate over 30 players during the winter training camp, with hopes of bringing in new talent to strengthen the squad.
Amidst the overhaul, Buducnost has confirmed three new signings: Miloš Milovic (30), Stefan Hajdin (31), and Nemanja Nikolic (33), pending medical tests. These additions aim to bolster the team’s performance as they prepare for a crucial match against league leaders Nikšićani on February 21.
The urgency is palpable as Buducnost sits precariously close to the relegation zone, just two points away from a playoff position. Bozovic noted, “The table looks ugly. It all depends on us,” stressing that the team must cultivate a winning mentality to climb the standings.
As winter training commences, the club’s management is also assessing further player acquisitions, aiming to secure younger talent, but admits the January transfer window is challenging. “We are working on strengthening the team. It’s crucial for our survival in the league,” said sports director Nenad Maslovar.
With the first match of the spring season looming, all eyes are on Buducnost as they attempt to reclaim their status as a dominant force in Montenegrin football. Fans are eager to see if Bozovic’s leadership can turn the tide and bring the club back to its former glory.
