Police Chase Leads to Arrest, Seizure of 50 Drug Wraps

UPDATE: A dramatic police chase in Bootle has led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man and the seizure of 50 wraps of suspected crack cocaine and heroin. The incident unfolded during a routine patrol at approximately 7 AM on January 9, when officers spotted the suspect riding a Sur-ron bike on Fleetwoods Lane.

As police pursued him to a nearby block of flats, the suspect attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended. A search revealed not only the drugs but also cash and a mobile phone, raising concerns about ongoing drug distribution in the area.

Merseyside Police have confirmed the man is under investigation for driving without insurance and possession with intent to supply class A drugs. He has since been released as inquiries continue.

Inspector Michelle Butland commented on the operation, stating, “Thanks to the actions of our officers who stopped a man on Fleetwoods Lane, a large amount of dangerous drugs have been uncovered and removed from our streets in Bootle.” She emphasized the importance of the ongoing initiative, Winter of Action, aimed at enhancing safety in town centers and combating serious organized crime.

The police are urging the community to remain vigilant. “Although we have made an arrest, our investigation is still ongoing,” Inspector Butland added. Authorities encourage anyone with information about this incident or drug-related activities to contact them immediately.
