URGENT UPDATE: A burglary in Lisburn has left a local residence ransacked and cash stolen, prompting police to urgently seek information from the public. The incident occurred on January 1, 2026, with officers receiving a report at approximately 11:00 PM regarding a possible ongoing break-in at a property located in the Charlestown Hall Drive area.
Upon arrival, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) found no intruders on the scene; however, the home had been extensively searched and a quantity of cash, estimated to be around £1,000, was taken. Additionally, significant damage was inflicted on the back door of the property, indicating a forced entry.
Authorities believe the burglary took place around 7:35 PM, roughly three hours before police were alerted. It is also suspected that this incident is linked to an attempted burglary earlier that evening on Randalstown Road in Antrim.
