Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool and Wolverine, discusses his potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe while Avengers 5 is still looking for a director. The MCU’s timeline will undergo a significant shift in 2024 as a result of Deadpool and Wolverine’s inclusion of Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson in the Avengers-based franchise. Levy is in charge of Deadpool & Wolverine, which is expected to be a financial success. Early reviews have also been encouraging.
Levy was directly asked in a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter when he would be ready to direct another MCU movie. This is a significant question considering that he has been linked to directing Avengers 5 rumors. The director of Deadpool and Wolverine did not confirm any recent rumors, but Levy said the following about a possible future collaboration with Marvel Studios:
I’ve read all those rumors, and it’s nice! I’ll say this: it’s been an incredibly gratifying experience making this movie [Deadpool & Wolverine.] I know how happy I am with the process and the results. I know how happy Marvel is with the process and results, so I won’t be surprised if there’s more Marvel in my future. As to when, it would have to be the right idea, the right story, and the right moment, and probably after I get about 48 hours of rest!
