The Masked Singer Debuts Major Format Shift with Live Bands

The highly anticipated return of The Masked Singer on ITV introduces a significant format change for its upcoming series. For the first time, the show will feature complete bands performing, requiring the panellists to identify the lead vocalist. McCall described the new series as feeling “fresh,” noting that the inclusion of new ideas and additions keeps the panelists alert. She remarked, “It’s got a really good pace to it,” indicating that the changes have revitalized the show’s dynamic. Gilligan shared his excitement about being more involved in the performances, revealing that he was invited to join one of the acts on stage, a unique experience for him.

Jama expressed her particular excitement for a character she dubbed her all-time favourite, the Can of Worms. She praised the character’s rapping skills, noting, “They don’t miss a beat,” which showcases the creativity behind the performances.
