URGENT UPDATE: The Gwen Mayor Trust has just announced funding for 18 school projects across Scotland, honoring the memory of Gwen Mayor, a teacher tragically killed during the Dunblane shooting on March 13, 1996. These newly funded projects include significant developments at various schools. For instance, Thorntree Primary School in Glasgow will replace musical instruments for its Baby Strings initiative, ensuring continued access to music education. Christ the King Primary School in North Lanarkshire will enhance its outdoor spaces thanks to this funding, promoting outdoor learning experiences.
Additionally, Airlie Primary School in Kirriemuir will launch a sewing, knitting, and clothing creation program, while Fernielea School in Aberdeen will establish a Glee Club, fostering musical talents among students. Kirkudbright Primary School is set to create a crafts and STEM box of materials, encouraging hands-on learning, and Preston Tower Primary in Prestonpans will acquire equipment and waterproof clothing to support its outdoor program.
