A Singaporean influencer, Eunice Ng, known online as ‘Mermaid Girl,’ is under investigation for alleged mistreatment and inappropriate acts involving her dog, Fleur De Elise, commonly referred to as Fleurry. The National Parks Board (NParks) initiated the inquiry after receiving reports linked to Ng’s social media content, including videos that have raised concerns about her treatment of the animal.
Initially, the investigation was prompted by a video that appeared to show a person scolding and striking a dog, which many viewers believed to be Ng reprimanding her own pet. Following this, NParks began looking into the situation. Reports from the local publication Mothership indicate that the inquiry has expanded to include allegations of Ng engaging in lewd acts with her dog.
In response to the allegations, Ng has firmly denied any wrongdoing, claiming that her pet “can do whatever it wants.” She has suggested that her approach to pet care does not involve harmful actions, stating, “I don’t believe in gentle parenting. I love and care for my dog a lot.” Ng has emphasized that she personally handles all aspects of her dog’s grooming and care.
Details of the Investigation
The situation escalated further when a video surfaced on TikTok, which incited additional scrutiny of Ng’s social media activities. A volunteer from an animal welfare group, identified only as Josephine, took it upon herself to investigate Ng’s online presence. During her review, she discovered a list of services offered by Ng that included a category labeled ‘dog play,’ which lacked a detailed description. Josephine also found images of Ng with her dog that were perceived as suggestive, one of which had the caption: “Who wants to be my dog?”
Ng has responded to these claims by clarifying that ‘dog play’ refers to a BDSM service where clients are treated like pets, rather than any inappropriate interactions with her dog. She maintains that sexual acts involving her pet have never occurred. In her statements to Mothership, she reiterated, “Sexual acts are never done involving my dog.”
Public Reaction and Current Status
The public’s reaction to Ng’s content has been overwhelmingly negative, leading to significant backlash across social media platforms. As her online presence faced scrutiny, Ng reportedly deleted her Instagram account to limit further exposure. On December 20, 2023, she shared a post on Telegram featuring a photo of herself with Fleurry, captioned, “Mummy’s gonna miss you.” The implications of this post concerning the dog’s status remain unclear, prompting speculation about whether Fleurry has been removed from Ng’s care.
The situation surrounding Eunice Ng continues to develop as authorities investigate the claims thoroughly. Public concern for animal welfare remains high, with many advocating for stricter regulations to protect pets from potential mistreatment. As the inquiry progresses, further updates are expected from NParks and other involved parties.
