Warwickshire Recycling Centres Announce Urgent Holiday Hours

URGENT UPDATE: Warwickshire’s nine recycling centres have just announced their holiday opening hours, making it easier than ever for locals to dispose of waste this festive season. Notably, the online booking system has been temporarily suspended, allowing residents to visit without prior appointments.

According to reports from CoventryLive, the trial period for the online booking system has been paused for six months, giving residents more flexibility during the busy holiday times. However, the Warwickshire County Council cautions that centres may experience significant traffic, especially in the early part of each day. Residents are urged to avoid visiting within the first hour of operation to ensure a smoother experience.

All recycling centres will be closed on December 25, December 26, and January 1. On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, sites will close early at 12:30 PM. Throughout other days during the holiday season, centres will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:15 PM on weekdays and 8:30 AM to 4:15 PM on weekends.

The Warwickshire County Council has identified December 27 and December 28 as particularly busy days. To avoid the crowds, residents are encouraged to plan visits on quieter days or later in the afternoon. “The first hour after opening tends to be busier than later in the day,” officials stated.

Councillor Darren Cheshire, the cabinet member for the environment, heritage, and culture, emphasizes the importance of planning ahead. “There’s no need to book a slot at any of the Warwickshire recycling centres this Christmas, so it’s even easier to recycle any excess waste over the festive period,” he noted.

Recycling rates in Warwickshire have been rising, thanks to the efforts of residents. “Recycling all you can at home and at our centres is one simple way to be more sustainable this Christmas,” Cheshire added, highlighting the community’s ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.
