URGENT UPDATE: LOT Polish Airlines has just confirmed the launch of non-stop flights from Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) to San Francisco International Airport (SFO), starting on May 6, 2026. This highly anticipated route will operate four times a week, marking a significant expansion in the airline’s transatlantic network.
Travelers can expect flights on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The Wednesday and Saturday flights, designated as LO37, will depart Warsaw at 17:40 and return as LO38 from San Francisco at 22:15. Thursdays and Sundays will see flight LO35 leave Warsaw at 11:15, returning as LO36 at 15:50.
This new route is crucial for LOT Polish Airlines, which reports that over 800,000 passengers flew between Poland and the United States last year. Robert Ludera, the Director of LOT’s Network Department, stated, “Transatlantic flights are of strategic importance for LOT Polish Airlines.” He emphasized that this new connection not only links Europe with a major technology hub but also opens doors for both business travelers and tourists.
LOT Polish Airlines plans to use the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for these flights, enhancing the travel experience. The fleet consists of both the 787-8 and the 787-9 models, configured in a three-class layout. The 787-8 can accommodate 252 passengers, while the larger 787-9 holds 294 passengers. Passengers will find a mix of business class flatbeds, premium economy recliners, and economy class seats, ensuring a comfortable journey.
The addition of San Francisco marks LOT’s sixth destination in the United States, following existing routes to Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Los Angeles (LAX), Miami (MIA), New York JFK, and Newark (EWR). The airline is committed to enhancing connectivity between Poland and key American cities.
