Niksic Police Arrest Two Individuals for Weapon Offenses

Police in Niksic, Montenegro, arrested two individuals early on March 15, 2024, during separate operations targeting illegal weapons possession. The first suspect, identified as V.N. (21), was apprehended near a local establishment around 01:00 hours. Authorities discovered that he was in possession of a ballistic vest and a 9 mm pistol, which was illegally held.

According to a statement from the Police Administration, V.N. was found wearing a “Point Blank” ballistic vest at the time of his arrest. During the search, officers recovered a pistol of the brand Czech Zbrojovka, along with ammunition. The police confiscated both the weapon and the vest, taking V.N. into custody for further questioning.

Multiple Arrests for Weapons-Related Offenses

Following the arrest of V.N., police officials reported that he was detained on the order of a state prosecutor from the Basic State Prosecutor’s Office in Niksic. He faces charges related to the illegal possession and carrying of weapons and explosives. The suspect will be presented to the competent state prosecutor for further legal proceedings.

In a separate incident, officers from the Intervention Unit stopped a vehicle, a Volkswagen Passat with Tivat registration plates, driven by M.T. (31), also from Niksic. During this traffic stop, they seized an automatic starting pistol, brand Ekol, which contained 11 rounds of ammunition, along with two additional boxes holding 77 rounds. M.T. has been sanctioned for violating Article 27 of the Weapons Law.

Further Investigations Underway

The Niksic police also apprehended a third individual, V.V. (20), who was found to be operating a vehicle under the influence of psychoactive substances. He is expected to be brought before the relevant court for further legal action.

Authorities emphasized their commitment to intensifying efforts against individuals of operational interest, aiming to prevent violence and maintain public order. The police are also focused on uncovering and combating all forms of crime to enhance overall security in the region.
