A West Lothian man, Graham Glasgow, who is facing a terminal diagnosis, recently had the opportunity to meet players from the Rangers Football Club and their new manager, Danny Rohl. This special event took place at the club’s Auchenhowie training ground and was made possible through the club’s Charity Foundation, which aims to uplift individuals facing serious health challenges.
Glasgow joined nine other Rangers fans living with terminal or life-altering illnesses for a memorable day organized under the club’s Dream Fund initiative. This program is designed to provide unique experiences for those affected by conditions such as illness, bereavement, or disability. During the visit, attendees were able to meet members of the Men’s First Team and enjoy an exclusive autograph session with the players and coaching staff.
Following the meet-and-greet, the participants enjoyed a special lunch at Ibrox Stadium and took part in a guided tour of the venue. Colin Latta, who attended with his brother-in-law Graham, expressed immense gratitude for the kindness shown during their visit. He remarked, “The experience meant more to us than words can fully convey,” highlighting the significant impact the event had on Graham.
Latta continued, saying, “The warmth and compassion shown by everyone we met made Graham feel truly valued and welcomed. The time we spent at the club brought him joy, excitement, and a sense of comfort that will stay with us forever.” He specifically thanked players Nico Raskin and Jack Butland for their genuine care and kindness during the visit.
Raskin, reflecting on the experience, noted, “When we meet fans like that who are unwell, it really puts things into perspective. We just try to give them a smile and a good moment.” Such sentiments underscore the club’s commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of its supporters.
The Dream Fund offers various experiences throughout the season, including “Behind The Scenes” visits at the Rangers Training Centre, matchday experiences, and personalized letters, all aimed at bringing joy to those in challenging situations. This season, the initiative received generous support from attendees of the 2025 Charity Ball, further enabling the club to provide these valuable experiences.
Rachael Cosgrove, the Foundation Charity Executive responsible for coordinating Dream Day experiences, expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to host the guests. She stated, “We loved welcoming our Dream Day guests and making sure they could have this special experience during very difficult times. They are so brave, and this is something we can offer as a club and foundation to make their days a little brighter.”
As the day concluded, the smiles exchanged and memories created left an indelible mark on both the guests and the players. The event not only showcased the compassion of the Rangers community but also highlighted the importance of support during life’s most challenging moments. Through initiatives like the Dream Fund, the Rangers Football Club continues to demonstrate its dedication to uplifting those in need.
