In an exciting development for entertainment fans, Amanda Holden has expressed her enthusiasm for her role in the upcoming Disney film Hoppers. The television personality, known for her work as a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, plays Amanda The Spider in the animated feature, which is set to premiere in the UK on March 6, 2024.
Holden described her involvement in the project as “absolutely extraordinary” and “a dream come true.” The film follows the story of Mabel, voiced by Piper Curda, who uses secret technology to transform herself into an animal, leading to a series of whimsical adventures.
Exciting Collaborations and Character Insights
In her remarks to the Press Association, Holden highlighted the significance of being part of a Disney film, stating, “Obviously, Disney and Pixar are in every family household, and to be part of an iconic movie like this is just absolutely extraordinary, and something that I just never thought would happen.” Her character, a “sharp-witted, sarcastic spider,” offers a unique blend of humor and charm.
Holden is joined in the film by her friend Alan Carr, who takes on the role of a little squirrel. The two actors had the opportunity to direct one another during their recordings, leading to playful exchanges that enhanced their performances. “Alan made me crouch down, jump up. Go large, go small. I made him stand on one leg, spin around,” she recounted. “He even dressed up as a squirrel just because he’s so method. I wore a spider fascinator. We were totally in character for the whole thing.”
Creative Team Behind Hoppers
Holden attended the film’s promotional event at Leicester Square in London alongside her co-star Curda, director Daniel Chong, and producer Nicole Paradis Grindle. Curda, who is also making her mark in the film industry, described Hoppers as “weird” and “unexpected.”
She encouraged audiences to watch the film, noting, “There’s something for everyone in the movie. If you want to see a movie that makes you laugh, this one will do it. If you want to see a movie that makes you cry a bit, this one will do it. If you want to see a movie that gets a little spooky, this one will do it.”
With its diverse themes and engaging characters, Hoppers promises to capture the hearts of viewers when it hits cinemas across the UK in early March.
